About the game

DOSDORF is a management game in which you slowly turn an ordinary village into a tourist resort. You handle the budget, decide what gets built and watch how those choices play out over the seasons that follow. The presentation is what you would expect from a home-made DOS program of the early nineties: German text, plain menus and a lot of numbers to keep an eye on.

The game dates from 1991 and is credited to Helmut Hölzl. The bundled INFO.TXT carries a copyright line with a Vienna address (A-1020 Wien), so the Austrian origin is documented in the game's own files rather than inferred. The author later released it free of charge and it ended up on archive.org, where DosDorf.zip runs to about 220 KB.
