The Magic School Bus: Space Exploration Game ist ein pädagogischer Mega-Drive-Titel, der auf den Scholastic-Büchern und der Zeichentrickserie basiert. Du fährst mit Ms. Frizzles Bus durchs Sonnensystem, landest auf den Planeten und arbeitest dich durch kurze Abschnitte, sammelst Gegenstände, während das Spiel dir Fakten über den jeweiligen Haltepunkt vermittelt. Tempo und Schwierigkeitsgrad richten sich klar an Kinder – es ist eine geführte Tour, keine Herausforderung.

Interessanter ist, wer es entwickelt hat. Die Entwicklung lag bei Novotrade aus Budapest, einem Studio, das jahrelang für Sega arbeitete und vor allem für Ecco the Dolphin bekannt ist, während Scholastic und Sega den Vertrieb übernahmen. Die Novotrade-Zuschreibung stammt aus dem archive.org-Eintrag. Das Spiel wird selten emuliert und schaffte es nie auf eine der späteren Sega-Kompilationen.
