About Virtua Fighter Animation (Master System)

A two-dimensional fighting game derived not from Virtua Fighter itself but from the animated series spun off from it. Instead of polygons you get hand-drawn fighters and plain one-on-one bouts. The 8-bit version was handled by Aspect and appeared on the Game Gear in 1996.

The Master System version was released in March 1997 by Tec Toy of Brazil and remains the only home-console release of the game, as the Mega Drive version prepared alongside it never materialised. In content it follows the handheld original, minus its extra viewing modes.

That makes it one of the last cartridges produced for 8-bit Sega in Brazil, where Tec Toy kept the console on sale for years after the rest of the world had stopped caring about it. On OldGame.cz the game runs right in your browser.
