About Katetris

Katetris is a Finnish take on Tetris for DOS, released in 1995. It was written by Paul Pekkarinen under the ShadowClog Systems label, and like many Finnish hobby productions of the time it earned a mention in Mikrobitti (issue 3/1995), Finland's biggest computer magazine, which regularly introduced amateur games to its readers.

The game itself is a classic falling-tetromino puzzle — the genre practically every beginning programmer of the mid-1990s tried their hand at. The Finnish home-computing scene produced dozens of such variants, and Katetris is one of those that survived; a sequel, Katetris II, followed a year later.
