Kanz al-Maloumat (Sakhr)

Kanz al-Maloumat is an Arabic-language quiz and edutainment title for the PC, released in 1995. You work through questions across general-knowledge topics, with the entire interface and all text in Arabic — which is what makes it an oddity. In archive.org's MS-DOS library of more than 23,000 items, it is the only Arabic-language game.

It comes from Sakhr Software, the software arm of Al Alamiah, the Kuwaiti company known in the 1980s for its Arabized MSX machines sold under the Sakhr name. That software division later operated out of Cairo, so the Kuwaiti label describes the company more than it pins down where this PC edition was actually made. The game also leans on system-level Arabic support: the preserved package boots an Arabic MS-DOS with Windows 3.1 on top.
