About the game

Wormeli is a Finnish take on the classic worm formula of Nibbles: up to four players share one screen, and computer-controlled opponents can fill any empty seats. The goal is simple — avoid the walls, your rivals and your own ever-growing tail. The game was released in 1999 by rkc productions.

The original BBS blurb asked for nothing more than a 286, a colour VGA card, a good keyboard and “some sense of humour”, which sums up four-player matches around a single keyboard rather accurately. It is a typical small freeware title of the Finnish home-computer and BBS scene of the 1990s, a scene that international retro sites tend to overlook.
