Hlasitý zvuk zbytečného boje tě vítá hned po startu. Eamon Adventure Disk 3 z roku 1988 je třetí díl série textových RPG dobrodružství, která se psala na počítačích s DOS a byla spíš domácí tvorbou nadšenců než polstrukturovaným výrobkem. Tady už nejde o nějaký profesionální titul — je to amatérský RPG, kde se setkáváš s klony a jejich pánem v prostředí, které je procedurálně generované a místy surové.

Jde o typické textové dungeon crawlování. Pohybuješ se po mapě, snažíš se najít Clone Mastera, bojuješ s nepřáteli a sbíráš výbavu. Příběh je minimální — titul říká všechno. Ovládání je klasické: psaní příkazů, čekání na textový výstup. Nejsi tu na interaktivní román, ale na simulaci boje v temné chodbě s náhodně generovanými nepřáteli. Grafiku nehledej; je ji přesně tolik, kolik potřebuješ, aby sis představil, co se děje.

Hraní je repetitivní a netešící. Bojuješ, sběráš věci, bojuješ dál. Prostředí se opakuje, protivníci jsou tpoucí, některé věci na tebe čekají bez logického důvodu. Hra nebere v úvahu střídmost — všechno je maximální, všechno je teď. Nemáš čas naslouchat, máš čas zápasit. To byla v té době prostě zábava pro určitou skupinu lidí, kteří měli chuť se proklikat tmou bez příběhu a bez estetiky.

Eamon série byla důležitá pro domácí počítačový gaming devadesátek. Byla to prvotní vlna freeware RPG, kde si věc mohl upravit a rozšířit každý. Tento disk je průměrným představitelem: funguje, dělá, co slibuje, ale nedaruje ti nic víc. Dnes vypadá jako pozůstatek doby, kdy strojopis na monitoru byl достаточ (stačil) jako vesmírné lety.

Má smysl si ji zahrát, pokud studituješ genezi počítačového RPG nebo chceš zažít, jak to fungovalo na začátku. V emulátoru ji spustíš, stisneš pár tlačítek a můžeš si říct, že jsi to zkusil. Není to bolestivé, jen obyčejně méstné a starých devadesátek.
