Chavez II is a Mega Drive boxing game built around Julio César Chávez, the most celebrated Mexican athlete of his era. Bouts are fought from a behind-the-boxer view, with a choice of a single exhibition match or a career climb up the rankings, and a range of punches from ordinary jabs to heavier signature blows.

This particular entry is the dedicated Mexican regional release of the cartridge, making it one of the very few 16-bit games aimed squarely at Mexico. Chávez was a national figure at the peak of his 89-fight unbeaten run, which gave the game a standing at home that an ordinary licensed sports title would never have had.
