About the game

Il fucile a doppia canna. Se Doom 2 non avesse portato altro, già quest'arma da sola gli garantirebbe un posto nella hall of fame. Quel clic appagante quando ricarichi, poi una bordata che fa a brandelli un demone da vicino — il super fucile è il motivo per cui si torna sempre a questo gioco.

Doom 2: l'Inferno sulla Terra riprende esattamente dove finiva il primo. Marte è alle spalle, i demoni sono arrivati sulla Terra e il tuo compito è farti strada a colpi d'arma nell'Inferno che si è riversato su città, fogne e basi. Niente filmati, niente dialoghi — la trama sta in due righe e non serve altro. Sei un marine con un fucile; il resto lo capisci da ciò che ti striscia incontro.

Il motore è lo stesso del primo — pseudo-3D, senza mirare in alto o in basso — ma la velocità è così brutale che non ci fai caso. La grande novità oltre al super fucile è un nuovo bestiario: il Mancubus che sputa palle di fuoco, l'Arch-Vile che resuscita i morti e ti infastidisce più di ogni altra cosa, il Revenant con i suoi razzi a ricerca. I livelli sono più grandi e intricati, a volte al punto di cercare quella maledetta uscita più del dovuto.

Cosa è invecchiato male? La seconda metà a volte esagera col design labirintico. Cosa non è invecchiato per niente? Il ritmo e la sensazione di sparare. Doom 2 è veloce, le armi hanno peso e ha alimentato il deathmatch e una scena di mod che lo tiene vivo ancora oggi. Puoi giocarci direttamente nel browser, senza installare nulla.
