Palkkamurhaaja — Finnish for “contract killer” — is, in the words of its period blurb, “a simulation of a hitman’s life”: you buy weapons, cars and drugs, “and then you just go murdering”. Blunt black humour of this kind was a staple of the Finnish home-computer and BBS scene of the 1990s, and this game carries it right in its title.

Expect a simple simulation rather than an action game — the core is managing your money and gear before heading out to ply the trade. The period system requirements were modest: a 386 processor, a keyboard and DOS, so graphics clearly were not the priority. The version offered here is 1.25; the author’s name has not survived in the blurb.
