Anyone expecting baseball to be playable without a single player animation on screen must have a worse imagination than mine. Radio Baseball is a text-based baseball simulation from 1986 that you essentially play in your head — the computer narrates the game's progress in words, you call the shots, and the rest is packed with numbers.

It's a computer adaptation of a classic board game. You pick a team, decide on the batter's stance, the computer simulates the pitch and tells you what happened. Hit, foul, home run, throw, strikeout — it all happens in text-based replay. Knowledge of baseball isn't a requirement; the game explains the rules and formats for you, but without a basic feel for the sport, you'll get a bit lost.
