Ruksinolla 2 is a DOS take on tic-tac-toe: crosses and noughts on the classic three-by-three grid. It is strictly a two-player affair at a single keyboard – there is no computer opponent – so think of it as a digital stand-in for pen and paper rather than an AI showcase. All it asks for is a VGA card and a keyboard.

The game was released in 1996 under the Finnish label Fallesmanni, and the original BBS blurb advertises it with typically dry Nordic self-irony as “guaranteed Finnish quality work”, adding that “Finland is a good place to live”. It even earned a brief mention in the Finnish magazine Mikrobitti, issue 12/1996. A tiny artefact of the Finnish BBS scene of the 1990s – and one you can now run straight in your browser on OldGame.cz.
