Jope is a Finnish text adventure written by Jouko Strömmer and distributed as freeware. Its original BBS blurb advertised it, tongue firmly in cheek, as "Finland's best text adventure" and boasted that it was "99.99% bug-free" — exactly the kind of humour the Finnish hobbyist scene of the 1990s was known for.

The author recommended the game especially to pupils and teachers of the Herttoniemen yhteiskoulu school in Helsinki, which suggests it was written mainly to amuse his own circle, as was common with homebrew projects of the era. You play by typing commands, and the whole game is naturally in Finnish — nowadays more of a charm than an obstacle.
