Bozo's Night Out

Bozo's Night Out is a 1984 Commodore 64 game from Taskset, a small British studio with a taste for offbeat, comic premises. It's a perfect example of the eccentric, character-driven games that filled the early 8-bit market, where a single humorous idea could carry a whole release.

The joke here is right there in the title: you guide a thoroughly drunk man on his stumbling journey home from the pub, trying to keep him upright and moving in roughly the right direction as he weaves through the streets. It's a slice of very British 1980s humour rendered in blocky C64 graphics, more amusing curio than deep game, and it survives today as a charming reminder of just how strange and personal early home-computer software could be.
