PixelWorm

PixelWorm by Haglund Studios (1999) is a Finnish take on the classic worm game in the Nibbles mould — with one unusual twist: the worms here do not grow and cannot die. Time is the only limit, so instead of careful weaving the game is about racking up as many points as possible before the clock runs out.

There are three game modes for one or two worms, and white potions appear on the playfield. Version 1.8 added high-score tables to every mode — a welcome novelty in the days when records were carried to school on a floppy disk. Small games like this grew on the fringes of the Finnish home-computer scene of the 1990s and are hard to find anywhere today. You can play this one right in your browser on OldGame.cz.
