cowQuest v2.01 is a goofy platformer by the Finnish group HAND Productions, released in 1998–99. You guide a little cow through mystic levels filled with passages, tunnels, ravines, mines and plenty of other dangers, all the way to a showdown with the Evil Silly Psycho Cow.

The original blurb promises "silly cow adventures" and that is exactly what you get: a light-hearted DOS jump-and-run (it also ran under Windows 3.x/95/98/NT) with sound-card support. It is a typical product of the Finnish homebrew and shareware scene of the late 1990s, which turned out small games for BBSes and early web archives — a scene international retro sites tend to overlook.
