Super Mario Strikers is a 2005 arcade football game developed by the Canadian studio Next Level Games. It belongs to the broad family of sports titles built around the Mario licence, the kind of game that takes familiar characters and drops them into a discipline governed by arcade logic rather than by the rules of the real sport.

Football here means five-a-side teams, a pitch enclosed by walls, and no offside or fouls whatsoever. Possession is settled by shoving opponents into the boundary, and matches are short, fast and deliberately rough. Items borrowed from the racing side of the series also enter play, which means a half-time lead is never a guarantee.
