Shadow Warrior runs on the same engine as Duke Nukem 3D and, like it, accepts cheats typed straight into the game. They all start with the letters SW. Wanton Destruction is an add-on that was only released officially long after the game itself. It runs on the original Shadow Warrior, so the codes are identical.

The add-on is built on weapons you already know, so SWGREED right at the start shows you nothing new — SWMAP and SWGHOST are more useful here. Weapons here have two firing modes and some can be dual-wielded — that is the best part of Shadow Warrior, and SWGREED lets you try it immediately. Save god mode for the final fights, because the rest of the game is built on dodging and using the terrain.

For two decades MS-DOS was the main gaming platform on PCs. Games launched from the command line and used sound cards like Sound Blaster or AdLib. DOS is the home of legends such as Doom, Prince of Persia and Commander Keen.
