When the welcome screen opens, you know right away — this is a game someone programmed in their garage, and in the best way possible. Bunny Blast is a puzzle where you throw colored balls at a playing field and try to deal with the rabbits. Basically what worked in the nineties: simple rules, infinite combinations.

It's essentially about shooting at a line of colored elements with an animal theme. You aim, launch, balls collide, and when three of the same color meet in a row, they disappear. Meanwhile, rabbits are lounging somewhere in the background, but really it's just motivation — you see them, you want to hit them, the technique is the same as in any Match-3 variation. The game gives you a few seconds to think about your move, then things start moving on their own. Time is strict and impatient.

The controls are archaic — mouse and buttons. No graphics to get excited about, more monochrome or sixteen-color surface, but that actually makes it feel fresh in its way. At the end of the nineties, when everyone was chasing 3D, someone here simply decided: I want a game that works. And the mechanics work. There's nothing to frustrate you — just a miss here, a hit there, keep trying. Gradually you realize that those few layers of rules can combine into surprisingly deep situations.

Bunny Blast isn't a game that changed the industry. It's not even trying to. It's exactly the kind of low-effort daily entertainment you'd return to between emails and waiting for the computer. Unmemorable in itself — which means you'll eventually forget it completely, but while playing you feel good.
