Four Hills

Four Hills is a DOS ski jumping game from 1994. The title clearly nods to the famous Four Hills Tournament, the ski jumping event that grips central and northern Europe every winter. The only surviving period note about the game is short and to the point: it is played with the mouse.

Ski jumping was practically a national sport in 1990s Finland, and the country's hobbyist programmers produced a whole string of small jumping games that spread through BBSes and on floppies passed between friends. International retro sites have largely overlooked this scene, which makes titles like this one some of the most obscure corners of DOS history.

Nothing is recorded about the author or any further details — the best way to get to know Four Hills is simply to play it, right in your browser on OldGame.cz.
