Jaws is a 1989 MS-DOS game based on the famous shark franchise, published by Screen 7 — a label that handled a number of licensed movie tie-ins in the late eighties. Adaptations of big-screen properties were a booming business at the time, and a premise as instantly recognisable as Jaws was natural material, blending action against the ever-present threat lurking beneath the water with a layer of strategy, as the genre tags suggest.

Licensed games of this vintage were famously hit-or-miss, and firm details on this version are limited, so it's best judged as a period curiosity tied to one of cinema's most iconic monsters. For collectors of movie tie-in software or anyone tracing how Hollywood properties were squeezed onto late-1980s PCs, it's an interesting footnote rather than a genre standout.
