Do you breed your bubble or let it be fired? Puzzle Bobble solves this with a simplicity that carries its charm even after thirty years. You grab two colored balls, aim, and release. Goal: clear all bubbles of the same color from the screen before it all gets over your head.

It's a shooter with puzzles. You stand at the bottom, colored spheres pile up above you. Hit three balls of the same color next to each other, and they vanish. They fall toward you slowly, but relentlessly. You try to knock off groups, use bounces off the walls, combine shades. A trick from Taito: precision isn't everything, but it matters. You're more focused on figuring out where the ball will actually bounce than just hammering the trigger.
