PC Basket 3.0 (1995) is the third instalment in a Spanish series of basketball management games — the hoops sibling of the famous PC Fútbol football series. While the football brother became a phenomenon in Spain, the basketball branch always lived in its shadow, and this third entry is the most poorly documented episode of the whole line. All the more interesting to have it running in a browser.

In content it is an honest database of its day: all twenty teams of the Spanish ACB league with their 1995 rosters, ready for a complete league season including the play-offs. On top of that you can stage matches against selections of European and NBA stars, fielding a custom “dream team” of your own. The core is the manager mode: you train players, watch the club finances, sign reinforcements and try to keep results in line with the board’s ambitions.
The matches themselves are handled by an improved simulator that presents the games rather than letting you play them directly — the real weight sits in the decisions you make before tip-off and between rounds. Anyone hoping for arcade basketball will be disappointed; this is a game for readers of tables and statistics.
Two caveats are only fair. The game is entirely in Spanish, and without at least a passive grasp of the language you will spend some time lost in the menus. And as a management sim it is simple by the genre’s later standards — rosters, numbers and a handful of decision screens. Yet it has its charm: the 1995 ACB season is preserved here as if in amber, down to names that only long-time followers of European basketball will still recall.
