Today? Hardly anyone uses 4DOS anymore. Windows took the throne, DOS is ancient history, and if you want to work in a command line, you've got Windows PowerShell or Bash in modern systems. So it's a historical curiosity — interesting if you care about how we got to where we are now, but you don't need anything like this to play games.
You don't play 4DOS for fun, but as a lesson in what the working world looked like at the turn of the eighties and nineties. It's like buying an old BASIC textbook — valuable for the archive, not for your free time.
