A bit of history

The oldgame project started back in 2008 in the workshop of webmaster and graphic designer Angelo. The idea wasn't fully fleshed out yet, but after teaming up with PHP coder Paddy the site was rebuilt and moved to its current domain oldgame.cz. Most of the site as we know it was created between June and August 2009, with the final touches arriving in early 2010.

In 2026 the site went through a complete remake. We kept the soul of the original — and its years of content — but rebuilt the engine from the ground up so that the games now run straight in your browser (DOS via js-dos, consoles via EmulatorJS). We added console platforms, more languages and a retro „Windows 95" look. The original addresses and game IDs were preserved, so nothing from the old days gets lost.
