You're controlling what the developers charitably call a dogboy, though the sprite suggests something caught halfway between a canine and a fever dream. The Spectrum's limited palette and resolution don't help clarify matters. Your job is straightforward enough: navigate through side-scrolling levels packed with platforms, spikes, and enemies that range from generic to baffling. It's a platformer because that's what platformers looked like in 1991 on the Spectrum—jumping between blocks, dodging hazards, collecting things to progress.

The controls feel loose in that particular way early Spectrum games did. Your character responds, but with enough delay that timing jumps requires predicting where he'll actually land rather than where you want him to. The collision detection isn't generous. Spikes kill you instantly. Pits are one jump away. A single hit from most enemies sends you back to the level start.
